Wealthy: Adjective meaning characterized by abundance or having wealth.
Habits: An acquired mode of behavior that has become almost completly involuntary. ![]() "Your
level financial abundance is determined by acquired behaviors you chose to implement this moment."
Becoming a person with wealthy habits takes time, determination and focus. Chances are, the habits you now have concering your income are not making you wealthier but making your broke. Broke is a state of being that most of us are familiar with. And of course not one likes being broke yet we do absolutely nothing to change the direction we are heading. If we keep doing the same thing, we will continue in down the same path, living the same life, making the same decisions that keep us broke. I took a look at my circumstances not to long ago and decide to make some changes. For the past couple of years, I have wanted to become a person of wealth by adapting my financial habits. I started by reading several books on aquiring wealth by experts in their field. I took in every bit of information I could so I could finally change my life around. Today, I am still not what I consider wealthy, but I am satisfied with the direction that I am heading. Here are the some of the basic habits that I developed that will positively impact my finances.
I firmly believe that our current situation has much to do with our
decisions along the way that brought us here. We are making
decisions each and every day to become wealthier or to become poorer.
What I wish to do is to make you conscious and aware of how your
habits impact you financially. Once your level of consciousness
is raised, you will no longer be content living in a manner that
hinders you financially.
Its not how much money you make The amount of money you bring in is a factor, but not the main factor, of how much wealth you are able to create. Case in point are lottery winners. You've heard time and time again about the detailed accounts of winners who end up broke just a few short years of receiving their millions. I'm sure most of these people were like you and me, daydreaming of a day when the money would magically fall in their lap and change their lives forever. Well, the money came and went, and many of there are right back in the same situation , if not worse. I've seen a statistic as high as 80% of lottery winners filing for bankruptcy in five years of receiving their winnings. These people did not have the knowledge of the habits of wealth, therefore they squandered their wealth. You, on the other hand, seek to create the foundational habits of wealth to prepare you for the proper management of your income. If you treat your money right, your money will treat you right Money does not care if you are male or female, black or white, short or tall. The only thing money cares about is how you treat it. If you treat your money like an item that you use to get the things you want, then you will perpetuate your current circumstances. If you treat your money like a valuable tool which you can allocate and put to work, you will be creating a new financial reality for yourself. Money likes to be around certain people. It likes people who appreciate and understand it. Those individuals who are paid on Friday and broke on Wednesday are not the kind of people money enjoy being around. Money likes for you to take time and focus on it even before you get it. It wants you to plan out what you will do with it before you receive it. People who do not plan out what they wish to do with their income find themselves wondering where their money went. Money loves to duplicate and multiply, it doesn't like to sit around and it does not like to be spent frivolously. Wealthy people know that. Think of yourself as a magnet. If you start to exhibit the habits of wealth, you will find that money is attracted to you. Money will find its way to you because your thoughts and actions are in sync with the kind of action that money is drawn to. What is wealthy? The first thought you should consider as you ponder the wealthy lifestyle is having a realistic understanding of the meaning of wealthy. If you are a person who lives paycheck to paycheck, you are far from being wealthy. Even if your paycheck is $20,000. Your level of wealth is determined by how long you can sustain your current level of lifestyle, without the use of credit card, if the income from your job were to cease today. How long could you make it without becoming homeless? You know the answer for your situation. Your focus should be placed on increasing the amount of time that you can sustain your standard of living without your paycheck. The longer you can sustain, the wealthier you are. The key to lengthening the amount of time that you can go without a paycheck is to work on beefing up your assets. Let's talk about what wealthy is not. Wealthy is not having a bunch of cars, clothes, jewelery, and other stuff that you pay for a little bit at a time on credit. Wealthy is not eating out four times a week at swanky restaurants. Wealthy is not "livin it up" while you owe a bunch of people a bunch of money. That is defined as foolishness. Think about it, if you do not really have the money to pay for the stuff, you really can not afford it. You have the appearance of wealth, but deep down inside, you know how little money you have. You may get a nice size paycheck, but you seem to always run out of cash just before payday (not cool). Sure, we all want to experience nice things but being able to afford it and have lots of money left over feels much better than making credit card payments month after month and not making a dent in the balance (not cool at all).
